Thomas Dolby & The Lost Toy People
Aliens Ate My Buick
Yes, I was a Lost Toy Person. This was a wonderful time of growth for me. Great music and fun people. Here are some snippets from Aliens Ate My Buick. Ability To Swing (400k), and Keys To Her Ferrari (477k) How about Airhead (315k0 for some funky pop. Here are some live recordings. I play the alarm sample in real time while still playing the groove on Hot Sauce (658k) and a very different version of Pulp Culture (738k) where I was triggering the Bass Pops on a pad. I was very fortunate to be involved in a recording that still gets peoples attention and seems to have a cult following. Here's a classic from Astronauts And Heretics that Jerry Garcia and Lee Sklar played on. The Beauty of a Dream(860k)
Here it is for those of you who want the whole 4.8MB Dolby Demo .......... More Dolby Stuff

Billy Batstone
While The Door Is Open
Recording this project was a real treat for me. I love hangin with Billy and his song writing talent is only eclipsed by his love for the Lord. I was given roughs of the tunes and created tracks for them on Performer. We later went in the studio and replaced the drums and some of the percussion leaving some of the programed tracks. Here are some of my favorites.
Good Shepherd(378k) \ Precious In His Eyes(518k) \ Living In Our Hearts(333k) \ Beautiful One(292k)

David Owens
Drums
This is a demo I put together with the help of Tim Jaquette. I think it is a fine example of what I was doing in the late 80's and early 90's.

Agape Beat
Recording for Surround Sound Magazine
Agape Beat was a Christian percussion ensemble created in 1998. The group provided a chance for Mike Bissonette, Tim Jones, George Rossi, Ronnie Ciago and me to enjoy playing and praying together. Check out my drum solo (861k) from a piece called Percussion Discussion recorded for Surround Sound Magazine. Agape Beat was a good opportunity for me to write ensemble grooves. Here's a little Bouncy Thang (285K) and an African Influenced Groove (476K) I wrote for the group.

Rhythm of the Pride Lands
Music Inspired By The Lion King
Maybe this was a precursor to getting the Lion King gig. Mark Manchina (who produced three songs from the original movie and eventually became the music producer and writer for the stage play) asked me to play on this CD. Here is a bit of Hakuna Matata (486) sung by Jimmy Cliff. Most of the music on this CD ended up in the musical.

Norm Stockton
Pondering The Sushi
I met Norm doing Maranatha! Music Worship Leader Workshops. His writing and bass playing on this CD speak for themselves. It is a joy to work with Norm and I was honored to be given room to stretch on this CD. Check out this fun and funky drum solo and a transcription of it from the "hidden" track at the end of the CD called Veggie Soup(1.2mg). Check out Norm's Web Site.

Scott Wilkie
Boundless
The Scott Wilkie Band started out as Nathan Brown on bass, Matthew Von Doren on guitars, Scott playing keys and writing and myself on drums. Boundless was the first of two CD's we did for Narada\Jazz. On this recording I came in at the end (after all the other tracks had been finished) and had to recreate Scott's drum programing. I think it came out well considering the challenge. Two tracks from Boundless and Fruit Sandwich (397k) \ Chasing The Dream (458k) \ Poolside (269k) More Wilkie Stuff

Tokyo Disney Sea
Theme music for the "Lands" in Disney Sea
Over the years I have had the pleasure of doing sessions for Paul Freeman and Bob Wackerman of Audio By The Bay. This one stands out because it was recorded with an orchestra at Paramount. This track was a Tim Heintz creation used in the Lost River (471k) Delta Area. I was asked to go to Japan for the opening of the park and play this stuff live with an orchestra for the Grand Opening of the park. If you are a Disney fan, this park is a must see if you get over to Tokyo. Here are some Pictures I took at Disney Sea.

Mother's Favorite Son's
Mother's Favorite Son's
Jason Foster, Joe Ongie, Tin Nienhuis and myself recorded this CD with Richard Bredise in hopes of getting some label interest. We did hook up with David Mantel (Limp Bizket, Collective Soul) and did a bunch of industry showcases at The Viper Room as well as flying to Atlanta to do a Showcase for Arista and LA Reid. Nothing came of it but we did have fun and at least we came close.

Ken Ross
Caught In The Current
Here is some Smooth Jazz from trumpeter Ken Ross. Check out the vibe on Montuno Beach(675k) . I got to do some brush work on Watercolors (356k). This project came about from my Scott Wilkie connection.

JESTER
This goes back to college and a bit beyond. Jester had so may influences it caused us to write music that was all over the map stylistically. A bit of a problem considering most people were listening to disco. We very much wanted to be Gentle Giant, Genesis, or King Crimson but there was still a pop and rock side to the music as well. Here's a sample of vintage Jester.
Caveman Shuffle (280k) \ Sunset Saturday Night (500k)

Jerry Swallow
Teleride
Here's some fun blues rock from the talented guitar of Jerry Swallow. Another case of replacing programed drums but on this one Jerry gave me freedom to play whatever I wanted.
